Available to hire for functions, meetings, parties etc.. during the daytime and evenings. Licensed bar available upon request. There is a 10% discount for all groups / organisations and anyone residing in the Parish
The Parish Hall is a registered Charity run by a Management Committee. The committee consists of people living in the Shirland and Higham Parish and regular hall users. The Management Committee are all volunteers and organise events for the people of this Parish as well as being responsible for the day to day running of the hall.
The Committee is always looking for enthusiastic members to join the Management Committee if you are interested please contact us through the Parish Office.

2016 Hire Prices
Hire of the Main Hall Monday - Thursday is £10.00 per hour Hire of the Main Hall Friday- Sunday is £12.00 per hour
Hire of the small meeting room is £8.00 per hour (£4.00 per hour if hiring together with the main hall.)
The Kitchen is also available to hire for a nominal fee.
Parish Residents receive a 10% discount on all hire fees.
The small room at the Shirland Village Hall has been fitted out with bookshelves, comfortable seating and a large variety of books for our regular Monday morning Coffee & Chat with book library open from 11 am until 1 pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy a coffee or tea with biscuits for only 50p each, choose one or two books to take home to read (free of charge) and meet with other residents of the Shirland & Higham Parish for a chat. Every week there is at least one parish councillor present for you to bring any problems you may have or suggestions to improve the Parish, anything that you would like taking forward to the regular meeting of the Parish Council can also be given to either of the parish councillors present. We are looking into starting a craft session at the same time as the Coffee & Chat Morning in September if you are interested in this please come along and discuss it with us. On the third Monday of each month dog lovers will be pleased to know that the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire branch of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Handling Club meet from 19:30 to 21:30.
Looking to keep active? Every Wednesday from 13:00 to 14:30 there is a 'Forever Fit' Class for older parishioners.
Our new dance classes have just started!
Want to shed a few pounds? Why not pop along to Weight Watchers. Meetings are held on Wednesdays 17:20 to 19:30.
On the SECOND & FOURTH Saturday of each month you can get into STRICTLY mode with Sequence Dancing from 19:00 to 22:30. Everyone is welcome!
If gardening is your passion the Derbyshire branch of the Hardy Plant Society meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 13:15 to 16:50. (September to May)
